Cannabis CO₂ Use and Cost Calculator

Estimate initial CO₂ fill, ongoing leakage replacement, tank use, and cost for a known room volume.

Room and concentration
Ongoing use and cost
Leave at zero unless you measured room drawdown.

CO₂ can displace oxygen. Use calibrated controls, independent alarms, ventilation, interlocks, and written entry procedures.

Why it matters

Room size controls the first fill. Leakage, ventilation, controller behavior, and crop use control how much CO₂ is needed afterward.

How to use it
  1. Enter the inside room dimensions, temperature, starting ppm, and target ppm.
  2. Enter estimated leakage and leave measured crop use at zero unless you have drawdown data.
  3. Enter enrichment hours, the number of days being priced, tank size, and tank price.
  4. Enter dry output from the same period to calculate CO₂ cost per pound.
Cannabis best practices
  • A high ppm setting is not automatically useful; light, temperature, and plant health still matter.
  • Use a calibrated controller plus a separate safety monitor and alarm.
  • Compare actual tank use with the estimate. Excess use often means leakage or controller overshoot.
Limits and sources

This is a gas-use estimate, not a safety or regulator design. It cannot replace alarms, ventilation, interlocks, or written entry procedures.
